Move-In Volunteers

Thousands of brand new Badgers will be moving into the residence halls in just a few days! If you are available, consider volunteering to help our new residents have a great experience during their first day on campus! You can sign up to be a Badger Buddy or helping at a waste and recycling location. Thank you to all those involved in organizing move-in, getting our residence halls ready for another year, and getting Housing in the Badger red spirit! We couldn't do it without every single one of you.

Convocation Lunch

We're gearing up for one of our favorite traditions - welcoming incoming students with a warm meal before they head off to convocation! This lunch is a great way to kick off the year and set a welcoming tone for our newest students. Sign up to volunteer and bring that energy to help make this a great experience for all! All volunteers will receive lunch as a thank you for their time and energy.

Note: Dining Staff are kindly asked not to register for this event.

Move-in Meals

Housing staff will again receive four meal swipes that can be used at our five all-you-care-to-eat (AYCTE) markets. These will be loaded to your Wiscard and are valid from August 23 to September 4.

When using year meal swipe, please inform the cashier that you are on a "meal plan" before handing them your Wiscard. This will ensure they use your meal swipe correctly. Your receipt will display the number of remaining swipes.

UA Ice Cream Social Volunteers

Each year University Apartments holds an Annual Ice Cream Social to kick off the start of the academic year and welcome new and returning residents to the community. This year the Ice Cream Social will be on Monday, August 24th from 5:00pm-7:00pm.

We know it is a busy time of year and the beginning of move-in week, but we’d love to see volunteers from across Housing and UW, sign up today! Whether you’re scooping ice cream or chatting with families while they wait in line for a balloon animal, any support helps!

All staff should confirm with their supervisor about hours and availability prior to signing up to assist with the event.

Housing Staff Chat & Chew Featuring Electric Eats

Thursday, September 17th, 12-1pm: Join your fellow staff for a Chat & Chew featuring the Sustainability Electric Eats food truck and lawn games! BYO lunch or grab lunch from Gordon or Electric Eats. Meet at the food truck parked on East Campus Mall alongside Gordon Dining and Event Center.

Meal Discounts for Housing Staff at Dining Markets

Housing staff will again receive a discount on meals at the dining markets this upcoming year when paying with Wiscard. You’ll get our all-to-care-to-eat service for $7.86 plus tax. A 5% discount for staff will continue at all other University Housing dining locations when paying with Wiscard, including Flamingo Run, Bean & Creamery, Starbucks, and Shake Smart.
