DCS & UHF Multilingual Multishift
Workday Training
|
|
|
|
In July 2025, all Universities of Wisconsin faculty and staff will use Workday to perform employee self-service tasks. Starting May 6, computer-based Workday training will be available for employees and managers.
UW–Madison is offering a three-part in-person training series to help employees learn how to use Workday on a computer and smart phone. This training is designed for employees who do not have regular computer access. Sessions will be offered in English, Spanish, Hmong, Tibetan, Chinese, and Nepali (languages supported by Cultural Linguistic Services). Learn more here!

Sustainable Move-Out
Over 150,000 pounds of material is diverted from the landfill annually through University Housing's Sustainable Move-Out initiative that benefits over 12 Madison-area community organizations. This year, we're especially in need of volunteer help on Saturday, May 10th. Shifts are in 2-hour increments and can be a great opportunity to get outside and meet students or other colleagues in Housing. Congrats, 2025 ROSE Award Winners!
Every year, University Housing celebrates the top-performing 1% of our student employees at the Recognition of Student Employee (ROSE) Award ceremony. This year, twenty students were recognized for their outstanding work performance and contributions to Housing. The 2025 ROSE Award ceremony was held on Thursday, April 17.

Save the Date
- Join us at the 2nd and 3rd shift Employee Recognition Event on Wednesday, May 14 from 10:30pm - 12:30am at Dejope Residence Hall! This event is open to all employees, and food and beverages will be provided.
- Chancellor Mnookin will speak at 11:15pm. Parking will be available in Lots 34, 37, 57, 58, and 59 from 9:30pm - 1am. Attendees are encouraged to take Bus 80, which stops at Observatory by Dejope. If you are interested in joining us, please talk to your supervisor, as employees can attend the event while in pay status!
- Mark your calendars for UW Housing's 49th Gutterball at Schwoegler's Park Towne Lanes on Friday, June 20, from 3:30 - 6:30pm. Plan ahead for your best team costumes and take home a prize!

Slichter Office Closure
The Slichter Office will be closed beginning May 12 through July 16 for window and flooring replacement. During this time offices will be moved to temporary spaces. You will find Human Resources in Humphrey Hall, Assignments in Carson Gulley Center, and Admin, Business Services, Marketing, and Residence Life in Adams Hall.

Comp Time Carryover Reminder for University Staff
As a reminder, any Comp Time Carryover (from 2024) that is not used by April 30, 2025, will be paid out on the May A paycheck. It will be paid out at your regular hourly rate.
Employees have two options:
- Use the Comp Time Carryover by April 30, 2024 by choosing the CompUsed pay code in Kronos when they are taken time off.
- OR save the Comp Time Carryover to get a large payout on the May A check. Any unused Comp Time Carryover remaining on May 1, 2025 will be paid out on May 15th, 2025 pay check.
