Partners in Giving Totals

Since 1973, this Partners in Giving has been successful only because of the hundreds of volunteers and thousands of donors who share their time and money generously in order to make an incredible impact on our local and global community, while making a difference of so many lives! This year's total campaign has brought in nearly $2,000,000!

We cannot thank you enough for the time and passion, so many of you dedicated to, during this year's campaign!

This year, UW Housing has raised and contributed $8,368.10 to Partners in Giving!

Final Totals:
  • $2,070.10 raised from our fun special events (DCS raised $1000 from their recent silent auction)
  • $255.00 from our Bucky Book campaign (sold 51 books)
  • $6,043.00 in Housing employee gifts

Special thanks to our PnG Campaign Volunteers: Laurie Teeter, (HR), Anastasia Kramper (Business S), Kevin Weber (UHF), Kelly Giese (Res Life), Shawna Veselsky (UHF), Will Fater (DCS), and Sean McCulley (UHF) in helping this campaign be successful again this year!

Congratulations, Sathish!

The Division of University Housing would like to congratulate Sathish Gopalrao on his retirement! Sathish joined the Housing team 23 years ago and led the division’s information technology efforts through many changes and advancements.

He has represented Housing on many campus initiatives and led a team that gave outstanding service to our students and staff. In keeping up with the fast pace of technology, Sathish was always committed to providing premier options to residents. He collaborated with end users to address their needs and assured that Housing had a secure and high-performing infrastructure.

We thank Sathish for his dedicated support of his staff and colleagues in University Housing, and we wish him and his family all the best in his retirement.

Reminder: Active Shooter Response Training

All staff are highly encouraged to participate in this training!

The UW-Madison Police Department conducts this Active Shooter Response Training module, of which will review the skills needed to survive a violent event. The focus is on situational awareness, decision making and the Run, Hide, Fight method of dealing with an active threat. The training incudes research results, data from survivors and practical simulations to re-enforce the material. This training also educates staff on the UWPD response, WiscAlerts, and other key safety information.

Our instructors are experienced law enforcement trainers whose main goal is to share tactics and techniques that can and will help you survive a crisis- specifically, to survive and active shooter incident.

As you complete this training:  What you do matters, and we encourage you to remember these three key steps:  RUN, HIDE, and FIGHT.

Online Training is available by logging in with your net ID.
