Partners in Giving is Here!

For over 50 years, Partners in Giving has been making a difference. Since 1973, the Partners in Giving campaign has raised over $88 million dollars. We invite you to join us! This year the campaign runs now through December 3, 2024. You can choose from over 500 charities under 10 umbrella groups or just make a general donation. The booklet with the charities is available to view here.

Everyone that makes an online E-pledge and/or participates in a Housing Special Event during the campaign will automatically be entered in to drawings for prizes throughout the campaign! Visit the Partners in Giving website to pledge online.

Veterans Day

Veterans Day is Monday, November 11th. In an effort to recognize our Housing staff who served, HEaRT invites all staff to wear red in honor of our Veterans, Veterans of Foreign Wars, and service members.

We also invite you to participate in a moment of silence as a sign of respect for their bravery and sacrifice and for those they served beside. This will occur at our nation's set time at 2:11pm on Veterans Day. Campus events on Veterans Day include a Veterans Recognition Breakfast from 9:00 - 10:30AM at Memorial Union followed by flag placing on Bascom Hill.

Director Jeff Novak would like to recognize all service members by hosting a lunch. If interested, please join Jeff at the Four Lakes Marketplace on Veterans Day at noon. Jeff will meet you at the cashier and then all will go in and get food and sit together.

Little Chicks Learning Academy Saturday Care

One of our UW Network Child Care Centers, Little Chicks Learning Academy, will be offering Saturday Care from 9:00 - 4:00 PM this Fall & Spring semester! Hourly care is available for children 6 weeks old to 5-years/not started kindergarten.

UW-Madison employees and students are eligible for reduced cost hours for Little Chick’s hourly care through our KidsKare Program. Learn more at this website!

University Staff Leave Schedule Change

Starting January 1, 2025, University Staff, including Craft Workers and Trades Employees, will begin the transition to receive leave time based on a fiscal year schedule (July 1 - June 30).

This change does not affect sick leave, leave banking eligibility, or how leave is earned (accrual rates). Please note that Trades Employees remain ineligible for personal holiday or leave banking.

Current Leave Schedule: January 1, 2024 - December 31, 2024

Transition Period: January 1, 2025 - June 30, 2025

New Leave Schedule: July 1, 2025 – June 30, 2026

Make a pledge to the Partners in Giving campaign on Wednesday, November 13 and Jeff Novak will donate $1.00 per each Housing employee who makes a pledge.
Ex: If 160 people donate, Jeff will donate $160 to Partners in Giving!
Mark your calendars! The Annual Housing Breakfast and Awards will be held on Thursday, May 22 from 7:30 - 10:30AM at the Kohl Center.

New Divisional Calendar

A new resource has been added to the Housing Hub SharePoint site to help you track important dates across our Division. The Housing Calendar collects key dates and deadlines from all areas of Housing that might impact you and our residents. Click the red “Housing Calendar” button on the Housing Hub home page to visit this new tool. If any important dates are missing, please check with your department leadership team and find out who is your area rep to send suggestions for the calendar.
