Window Decals at Dejope to Prevent Bird Collisions
This week, a grid of dots is being installed on the north windows of Dejope Residence Hall to help mitigate bird collisions. Similar to the dot grid on the glass walkway in Ogg, the dots prevent bird injury and death by helping nearby birds recognize windows as an impassible surface. Newly constructed buildings on campus have implemented bird-safe glass to reduce collisions, and existing buildings on campus and in Madison with large glass façades are following suit. While still allowing for sunlight and human enjoyment, the dot grid will help keep our native and migratory bird populations thriving so you can still find your favorite warblers on Lakeshore Path.

Articulated Electric Buses Coming to Campus This Summer

Sightings will become more common, and you may even get a chance to take a ride as they begin serving UW–Madison campus routes later this summer. The new buses are expected to become fully operational on campus routes beginning in fall 2024.
