Congrats, ROSE Award Winners!

Every year, University Housing celebrates the top-performing 1% of our student employees at the Recognition of Student Employee (ROSE) Award ceremony. This year, twenty students were recognized for their outstanding work performance and contributions to Housing. The 2024 ROSE Award ceremony was held on Thursday, April 11. If you work alongside any of this year's winners, be sure to congratulate them!

Help Residents Move Out Sustainably

Over 100,000 pounds of material is diverted from the landfill annually through University Housing's Sustainable Move-Out initiative. This benefits over 12 Madison-area community organizations, and we're looking for a few more volunteers as site volunteers and rover drivers this year. Shifts are in 2-hour increments and can be a great opportunity to get outside and meet students or other colleagues in Housing. Sign up for a shift or contact sustainability@housing.wisc.edu with questions.

Comp Time Carryover Reminder for University Staff

As a reminder, any Comp Time Carryover (from 2023) that is not used by April 30, 2024, will be paid out on the May A paycheck. It will be paid out at your regular hourly rate. Employees have two options. First, you can use the Comp Time Carryover by April 30, 2024 by choosing the CompUsed pay code in Kronos when they are taken time off. Second, you can save the Comp Time Carryover to get a large payout on the May A check. Any unused Comp Time Carryover remaining on May 1, 2024 will be paid out on May 16th, 2024 pay check. Please work with your supervisor to ensure that your Comp Time Carryover is used in the way you prefer.

Take the 2024 Cybersecurity Awareness Training

The 2024 Cybersecurity Awareness Training is now available in English (visual and text), and translated text versions will be available in the near future. This annual training is mandatory for all employees (including undergraduate and graduate student employees) who access UW–Madison information technology resources. The deadline to complete training is one year or 365 days from the day that you last completed training. Learning how to be more cyber secure is an important part of keeping data, privacy, and IT systems protected and safe. The information and cybersecurity practices you will learn in this training will not only protect UW–Madison’s data and systems, but your personal data as well.
