They Kept Campus Going Over Winter Break

When the hustle of the fall semester gives way to winter break, the work doesn’t slow down for many UW–Madison employees, including Housing staff! Meet some of the workers who make sure that buildings stay warm, residents stay safe, recreational facilities continue to serve the public, and plant life continues to thrive even while students are on break.

New Help Center for Transportation Questions

UW–Madison Transportation Services released a new web-based Help Center resource on the Transportation Services website. The Help Center aims to answer the most frequently asked questions that Transportation Services receives from the UW community. Currently, the Help Center is parking-focused, with more information about active/alternative modes planned for the near future. The new Help Center has information for new employees, visitors, parking permit applicants, event-goers, and those with questions about accessible parking, and it's a great resource for anyone who wants a refresher on parking at UW.

A Resounding Success for Partners in Giving

Since 1973, the Partners in Giving campaign has been successful only because of the hundreds of volunteers and thousands of donors who share their time and money generously. They make an incredible impact on our local and global community while making a difference in so many lives. This year, Partners in Giving brought in over $1,902,130 — $8,601 of which was contributed by Housing! $2,174 was raised from special events, $6,427 was in employee gifts, and Dining brought in $797 from their recent silent auction. Thank you for the time and passion that so many of you dedicated to this annual campaign.

MLK Symposium to Reflect on Dr. King's Legacy

Join campus in reflecting on the legacy of Martin Luther King, Jr. at the annual UW–Madison MLK Symposium on January 31.  This year, writer and actress Anna Deavere Smith is joining us as the keynote speaker. The event provides an opportunity for campus to remember, learn, and act on lessons from King’s legacy of activism, equity, social justice, and community building.
