Nominate an Outstanding Colleague for a Housing Employee Award
Don’t miss your opportunity to nominate a fellow staff member for a Housing Employee Award so they can be recognized for their excellent contributions to the division. These awards recognize individuals and teams who embody University Housing’s core values and exhibited outstanding service throughout 2023. Nominations are open until January 31st.
Phillips Renovation Begins
Bring your hard hat if you're heading to Phillips soon! Construction is now underway to improve resident rooms and common spaces on the first and second floors of the building. For the upcoming semester, residents will not be able to access first- and second-floor common spaces and classrooms, and the primary resident entrance will be the south entrance. Construction is anticipated to be completed by July 2024.

Housing In-Person Active Threat Response Training
The Vice Chancellor of Finance and Administration (VCFA) is partnering with the UWPD to offer in-person Active Threat Response Training to all staff in 2024, and you are highly encouraged to participate! Trainings for Housing staff will be on January 11, 17, 22, 24, and February 5 at the Carson Gulley Upper Program Room. Cultural & Linguistic Services will be available at the January 24 session.
Tuition Reimbursement & Professional Development
Thanks to an agreement between the Administration and Shared Governance, staff once again have the opportunity to apply for reimbursement (up to $1,000 in one fiscal year) for the purposes of Tuition or Professional Development. Applications are currently being accepted for events and courses scheduled between January 1 and June 30, 2024.

Have you downloaded the BadgerSAFE app yet? UWPD launched the new app last August to keep you and the campus community informed and to provide quick access to safety related resources. Simply search "BadgerSAFE" to download it through your device's app store.
Powering Networks at Sellery, Witte, & Bakke
With over 1,000 residents living in both Sellery and Witte, and with thousands of visitors at the Bakke Recreation & Wellbeing Center per day, a robust network infrastructure is important, to say the least. DoIT thoughtfully powers each of these spaces to meet the growing requirements for students' technology needs.
