UW–Madison Opens Off-Campus Housing Services to Assist Students
In recent years, the search for off-campus housing has increasingly been a challenge for many UW–Madison students, due to population growth, historically low vacancy rates, and the pressure of early leasing timelines. Many rental properties begin signing leases for next year soon after students first arrive on campus in the fall, leading to quick decisions before they are familiar with the Madison area. With these challenges, students and their families are seeking more assistance in navigating the off-campus rental market. In response, the University recently established a new resource for students with Off-Campus Housing Services. This new office, located within the Division of University Housing, is designed to provide students with the resources to make informed decisions and to offer follow-up support as needed.

Web Browser Extensions Could be Accessing Your Sensitive Info
When you type a password or credit card number into a website, you expect that your sensitive data will be protected by a system designed to keep it secure. That’s not always the case, according to a group of digital security researchers on campus. They found that some popular websites are vulnerable to browser extensions that can extract user data like passwords, credit card information and social security numbers from HTML code.
