Thank You, Custodians!

Last Monday, October 2, was National Custodial Appreciation Day. The Vice Chancellor of Finance & Administration, Rob Cramer, sent a message of appreciation to custodial staff across campus. From Jeff Novak, "Your dedication and hard work may often go unnoticed, but I want you to know that every little detail you attend to does not go unnoticed or unappreciated. From the spotless common areas to the sparkling clean bathrooms, your efforts transform our housing and dining facilities into comfortable, inviting spaces for everyone who calls them home." Thank you, custodians, for all you do!

Intro to the Housing DEI Committee

The Housing Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Committee represents the division through members across departments in Housing. Their goal is to plan and facilitate active and passive learning and engagement opportunities around diversity, equity, and inclusion and assess and review divisional needs of career and full-time staff education and development. If you have suggestions, feedback, or would like to get involved, let one of the members know!

Partners in Giving: Be Part of Something Bigger

The 2023 Partners in Giving campaign will soon be underway. Be a part of something bigger by participating beginning October 9 through November 30, 2023. Contribute through e-pledges, paper pledges, or at a special Housing event. Check out one of the Virtual Charity Lunch and Learn sessions this year to hear from charities who are making an impact locally, nationally, and internationally.

Earn Your Well Wisconsin Incentive

The deadline to complete the steps in the Well Wisconsin program and earn a $150 incentive is October 13, 2023. Participants must complete a health assessment, health check, and one well-being activity. There is also a simplified process for people who do not have computer access, need language support, or find the online steps challenging to complete. More information is available through the UW–Madison Office of Human Resources.

Happening on November 14 & 15 at Union South and virtually, the conference will focus on building connections and celebrating differences that make us unique.
