Start-of-Summer Conference Stats

It's another big summer for camps and conferences! This year, Conference Services will be hosting 119 groups and roughly 14,200 people. All of these people will eat a total of around 140,600 meals in our dining markets, and 10,500 will stay in a residence hall. Some groups have already come and gone, but we're excited to continue welcoming people to campus this summer. View more details and the full schedule on the Conference & Event Services SharePoint site.

A Merry Dairy Month

Did you know June is National Dairy Month? Celebrate what makes Wisconsin "America's Dairyland" with a scoop of ice cream from the Bean & Creamery, the Union, or the Babcock Dairy Store. Don't miss the annual UW–Madison Employee Appreciation Ice Cream Social on June 27, either! From 1–2:30pm, moo-ve on over to Bascom (or Birge Hall in case of bad weather) for a scoop of Mnookie Dough or another Babcock favorite to mark the end of another successful academic year.

Refund Policy Changes for Flex Parking Permits

Transportation Services announced important policy changes for Flex permit holders assigned to park in gated facilities. Previously, Flex account balances did not carry over to the next parking year and were refundable only by returning the permit by June 30. Flex permit holders are now able to transfer any 2022-23 parking funds into a 2023-34 account or receive a refund by check for the remaining balance.

Watch the impactful videos to learn about Wisconsin’s untold LGBTQ+ history, full of brave individuals who lived authentic lives, and the struggles against oppressive homophobia which eventually formed a movement that would score unprecedented civil rights protections in the state.

Celebrating Juneteenth 2023 in the Madison Community

Juneteenth is celebrated each year on June 19 to commemorate the day in 1865 when U.S. troops liberated nearly 200,000 Black Americans in Texas, bringing freedom to the last enslaved people in the former Confederacy more than two years after the Emancipation Proclamation was signed. It’s a celebration of freedom and African American history, culture and progress. Find opportunities to celebrate Juneteenth on the UW–Madison campus and surrounding community.
