Remembering Chancellor Emerita Rebecca Blank

With heavy hearts, the University Housing family mourns the passing of Chancellor Emerita Rebecca Blank. Her brilliant and steady leadership guided us through many challenges and her vision and boundless energy had an enormous impact on our residents and staff. For University Housing, she was a strong advocate of the residential experience and a beloved presence at Fall move-in. As our campus remembers Chancellor Blank, we share our gratitude for the unwavering support she provided. She was one of a kind and we will miss her greatly.

Coffee & Conversation with Cramer

Join Rob Cramer, the Vice Chancellor for Finance & Administration, for an informal get together to share a cup of coffee or a refreshment. Rob values this time with staff and wants to know what is important to us. Have a chat with him this Monday, February 27 at the Carson Gulley Center (Upper Program Room) from 9–10am, March 1 at Gordon (Ed Gordon Suite) from 7–8:30pm, or March 6 at Gordon (Overture Room) from 2–3pm.

Help Out in a Dining Market

Shifts to help out in our dining markets are available to all career staff again this spring! Staffing is looking better, but there are still some areas of need, and Dining is grateful for the help they've been receiving so far. Earn some extra cash and have a great time by signing up for these shifts. Check the email from February 21, 2023 for full details.

We're Committed to Composting

Did you know? University Housing has been participating in a composting trial at Gordon Dining & Event Center and Four Lakes Market. Since August 2022, over 104,000 pounds of food scraps from these Dining locations have been composted at the West Madison Agricultural Research Station. That's equivalent to over one million slices of bread!

Save the Date: Housing Breakfast & Gutterball

Mark your calendars for two fantastic annual Housing staff events! The Housing Breakfast will be on May 19th from 7:30–10:30am at Union South, and Gutterball will be on May 24th from 3:30–6:30pm at Schwoegler's Park Towne Lanes. Can't wait to see you there!
