Student Organic Farm Collaboration With University Apartments, Dining & Culinary Services

The UW Student Organic Farm and Dining & Culinary Services celebrated their new partnership last week at an open house featuring farm-fresh produce! The UW Student Organic Farm is a collection of agricultural plots at Eagle Heights Community Gardens, and Dining & Culinary Services has partnered with them this year. Produce from the farm will be used in the Electric Eats food truck, Catering events, and dining market salad bars in order to contribute to UW–Madison’s sustainability and local food system.

Prices to Change for Staff Meals at Dining Markets

Effective September 7, 2022, the cost of a staff meal at a dining market using a Wiscard will be increasing to $6.99, plus tax.The current $4.99 price is at a level considered a taxable benefit, which staff could have to account for and declare for tax purposes. The new rate continues to be lower than the price offered to the general public and is the lowest price we can offer to keep this benefit free from income tax.
