location on campus and within each building. What else? Read on.

Declutter your space sustainably
|
While setting up your room, follow our trash and recycling procedures.
Take all trash and recycling to designated disposal areas outside your hall and keep cardboard boxes out of the landfill by breaking down and recycling them. Not sure where to go? Look for signage posted in common areas inside your hall or ask your House Fellow.

|
Discover your hall desk
|
At your hall desk, you can pick up packages & mail, resolve Wiscard and room key issues, rent supplies for cooking & cleaning, entertainment, & sports, and get answers to common questions. Before you go, don’t forget to check for special hours
this move-in week.

Bucky's burning question
|
What was the first UW–Madison building to house students and when was it built?
|
North Hall! Built in 1851 at a cost of $19,000, North Hall was not only the first UW–Madison building
, it was also its first residence hall. Back then, it housed about 30 students and a custodian on the first three floors in 24 "suites", each with a study and two bedrooms.

Throwback photo of the week

While the laundry baskets, "woodie" van, WordPerfect box, and cart color may not be familiar to anyone who didn't live through the 90s, the experience of unloading during move-in is timeless.
