Prioritize Health this Respiratory Virus Season
It’s that time of year again! Respiratory viruses are all too common in winter months. Not too fond of a sniffly, coughing lecture hall? You can do your part to reduce the spread by practicing frequent hand washing, avoiding contact with people who are sick, getting fresh air, and taking advantage of UHS immunization resources.
UHS is hosting measles, mumps, and rubella (MMR)vaccine clinics for students who are unprotected against measles or unsure of their vaccination status. Appointments are recommended, but drop-in vaccinations are available.
UW-Madison has introduced a new policy requiring students to share their vaccination status to prevent the spread of communicable diseases, including Measles, Tetanus, Varicella, Meningcoccal, Hepatitis B, and more. While vaccination is not required, vaccination status for certain vaccines is mandatory to avoid class registration holds.
University Housing is providing meal service accommodations to students observing Ramadan. All pre-dawn suhoor
meals are Halal certified and available for pick-up the evening before at a dining location of your choice. Boxed breakfasts will count as one meal swipe or can be purchased at the breakfast door price. Dates will be available to all markets to break the fast.
Yes, people still mail letters! Check your mailbox for important documents or perhaps wholesome messages from family. Visit your hall desk to access your mail with your room key. Don’t leave your mailbox hanging!
Did you know various academic buildings around campus once hosted a designated coffee hour? Students were provided with fresh cups of coffee to relax, recharge, and get some socialization in between classes!
