Complete the Residence Halls Policies & Information Course

Within 72 hours after you move in to your residence hall, please take a moment to complete the Residence Halls Policies & Information course found on Canvas, the same learning platform you'll use for your classes. This is a great way to orient you to the residence halls, learn about resources available to you, and so much more!

Be a Sustainable Badger

You just moved in and you might have a lot of cardboard boxes to recycle. Where do they go, you ask? There are posters up around your residence hall with a convenient location for you to sustainably get rid of your trash and recycling. Depending on your building, this location may stay the same all year or you may have a new area once your fellow Badgers are moved in, so stay informed!

The Bucky List

Bucket lists? Too outdated and boring. This is The Bucky List. Now that you’ve made it to Madison, it’s time to experience it. These are just some of Bucky’s top picks for what to do in the City of Madison, at UW–Madison, and in their surroundings. The list will give you ideas to kick-start your Wisconsin Experience outside the classroom and set your college career up for success.

Maintenance Minute: Save Your Tech!

Lithium ion batteries help keep you connected and take you on the go. They also store a lot of energy, can burn explosively, and may pose a serious threat if not properly cared for. Items like your cell phone, laptop, e-bike, and electric toothbrush all contain these and can be a fire hazard if you don't know how to take care of them.

Eat with Bucky

Are you ready to explore all of the options available at our six dining markets? You can use your dining plan at any of our dining locations to get one of our chef's favorite dishes. Before you head over to grab a bite, check out the hours of each location! The best part? You can preview what's on the menu for each meal before you even arrive!

Your Hall Desk: The Place for Everything

You probably have already stopped at your hall desk to get your keys to move in, or perhaps you will be in just a few days! Either way, your community's desk is a great resource for information, picking up your mail, or getting a loaner key if you get locked out of your room. The best part, though, is that you can check out cleaning, cooking, sporting, and entertainment supplies from your desk at any time! Check out locations and hours before you visit.
